Logitech G604 Driver

Download Driver Logitech G604 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse. Logitech would really have done itself a big favor if (as with the MX-Master series) had only made minor design and hardware changes to the mouse. Instead, a lot of things were done wrong what was done right in the predecessor. For me, the G604 with a free-running (not too loud) mouse wheel with freely assignable side-scrolling and LGS support would have been just perfect. Instead, with the G604 you have the feeling of holding an immature prototype in your hand, where too much was wanted and too little thought through.

Logitech G604 Software Download & Quick Review

Since the announcement, I had been looking forward to the successor to the G602 and carefully followed every preview and every message. In retrospect, it is therefore all the more disappointing that the points of criticism are so substantial and overshadow the positive innovations so much that I had to send the mouse back.

Let’s start with the fact that this Logitech G604 no longer has LGS (Logitech Gaming Software) support. If you want to operate and configure the mouse correctly, you have to install the new software from Logitech (Logitech G Hub). That wouldn’t have been a big problem for me if I hadn’t used other Logitech devices such as the G13, which is not even supported by the G-Hub software. In plain language, I would have to have 2 different Logitech programs running in order to be able to gamble, which also often block each other.

The free-scrolling mouse wheel with side-scrolling was one of the main reasons I was originally hyped by the G604. I have missed the function (since I mothballed my G700s) and was happy that the G604 has now been equipped with it. The freewheel works very well so far, but if you click the mouse wheel and then scroll it is quite loud and runs very creaky or rough with too much leeway.

The next thing that struck me negatively (and what I could hardly believe) is that there is a very annoying edge on the right side of the mouse. There is a transition where the right mouse button begins, in front of which the said edge comes from the middle hard rubber part of the mouse (see Figure 4). As ingenious as this position on the G602 is, the position on the successor is just as uncreative and bungled as it is. If you (like me) use the so-called palm grip while playing, you can feel this point very clearly on your ring finger, because you keep scraping over it and it feels pointed and uncomfortable. Something like that is not allowed with a 100 € mouse and was apparently completely overlooked by the internal testers.

The newly designed eco-mode of the mouse, unfortunately, pissed me off. You can get by with one battery for a very long time, but you need extra Bluetooth for that. In my case, before I received the mouse, I bought a Bluetooth dongle for my PC, which I can now (after returning the mouse) basically throw in the bin. Why not stick with the old system, which allowed you to switch back and forth between the signal rates, which saved a lot of performance. Instead, as a PC player, you now need 2 receivers for a mouse → does that really make sense @Logitech?

Logitech G604 Conclusion: I was a little disappointed with the mouse, although I was really looking forward to the successor to the G602.

Logitech G604 Pros:

► More DPI / higher signal rate

Logitech G604 Cons:

the wheel is very loud and rough
